About Me

A college graduate with a Public Relations degree, "was" stay-at-home mom of two looking in every direction to save a buck. Originally, a Southeast Missouri girl who married a Texan looking to find his way back! After spending the past 7 years living in Nashville, Tupelo, MS and Memphis here we are in January of 2010. With being caught up with two house payments and a decrease in income I learned ways to be able to continue my obsession at the grocery store. I founded My Memphis Mommy in May of 09 and with continuing success I bring you My South Central Texas Mommy. I hope I am able to truly save your family a significant amount of money and can improve your lifestyle as I did mine. Thanks for taking time out to really explore the site and learn all about couponing!

My vision with My South Central Texas Mommy is to reach out to the Hill Country, Austin, San Antonio (where I reside) down to Corpus!

*Update:  Recently moved back to Nashville, TN and working for my previous employer outside the home full time as a recruiting agent!

  2. Thanks Jennifer! Do you have a blog? I can't wait to get started in San Antonio, although it's been so long since I've had to start new that will be hard. I've been very successful with Memphis and look forward to growth in San Antonio, I think it will be huge! The only thing I have to learn is how the heck to tackle HEB! Any suggestions? I didn't want to sign out of my memphis account, so sorry about that!

    Thanks Amy-South Central Texas Mommy!

  3. Hi Amy! I live in San Antonio as well have been looking for someone in the area to follow. I have a few coupon bloggers that I currently follow but they are out of the area and do not post on HEB. I struggle with finding great deals at HEB so I mainly just shop there for my meats and produce. I am interested in seeing what you can come up with.

  4. I'm excited about finding this site and hope it helps me. I currently reside in MS and was surprised to see that you lived in Tupelo at one time. My son is at Blue Mountain College near there. We will be relocating to Houston this summer and I follow a wonderful coupon blog here. The lady goes around doing workshops on how to save money. She is wonderful and very giving. I will be checking in with you. I wish you the very best of luck. We too have had to deal with a downsized income and a house that isn't worth what we paid for it...but I digress. Looking forward to visiting here.

  6. Is this only limited to San Antonio? I live in Houston and I am not sure if the items are the same.

    Thanks!

  7. Erika: Majority of the stuff that I post is for anyone! I believe HEB is different everywhere. My In Laws live in Houston/Katy area and am pretty sure that prices are different. I do not know that for sure. The combo loco and meal deal stuff could be the same. Sorry I couldn't give you an exact answer. You could go on and look at the HEB for your zip and then put in 78260 zip (for where I pull the ad here) and compare.

  8. Hi Amy-
I'm a couponer in San Antono (Northwest side off of Grissom Rd) and I also have a blog! I love Walgreens, CVS, and Super Target. I'm not too thrilled with HEB anymore now that I coupon. Now that I found your blog, I will be following you!

  9. Thanks Jeri!

Awesome blog! Looks like you have some awesome deals! If you ever want to send my way as time permits I'll do a post and link back to you!

I spend so much time on this crazy computer searching for stuff and networking (for 3 sites) that I don't get the chance to hit the deals or do much couponing anymore.

Although I love it, I really miss out on great deals. Sad that I deliver it to everyone, but don't get time to utilize it myself.

I was not a HEB person when I moved here since I'm so used to eCoupons, Double Coupon etc...it was really hard getting used to!

But now that I've gotten my feet wet a little I actually LOVE HEB! For the most part they are really customer oriented which I don't find most places and they are REALLY supportive of my site. They have given readers alot of great giveaways! They have a HUGE launch coming up and I have a conference call with them tomorrow afternoon! Can't wait!

Details coming soon! Awesome job by the way on BACON! Love it!

    Hey Deborah-
We developed a network called "My City Mommy", we have over 20 sites now in different cities and I actually have three (My City Mommy) which is the main base for those to find a city close to them, (My South Central Texas Mommy), b/c I just moved to San Antonio area and (My Memphis Mommy) because that was the original start and where I moved from. They all have gotten to be very similar b/c we share info on our daily deals and national deals, samples etc....we all will have a little different stuff depending on the day. I'm trying to do more localized things as I have the Deals for the Day in San Antonio and Austin area a few more free samples than others, I do my own HEB Coupon Match Up and we each have our own giveaways! That is where you will find the difference and community stuff:-)

Thanks for asking! I hope you stick around.

  12. Nevermind the above post. I see you all paid the same blog designer and all the blogs are identical for the "My (insert city here) Mommy" sites. They are all cute though, although the same.

  13. Yep that is the concept. All same designer and national stuff:-) We all just concentrate on our Local Match Ups and whatever else is out there!
All under the same tax form:-)
